Upload the schedule as a CSV or tab-separated export. Vento finds the header row under any title rows, maps the code, description, unit and rate columns, and takes up to 20,000 items.

Apply the contract’s percentage once, against the whole schedule — “2026/27 plus 3.5%” — instead of editing every rate.

How a line is priced

Rounded to the penny, then multiplied

The uplifted rate is rounded before it meets the quantity, and the line is rounded again. A surveyor checking the job against the schedule gets the same number you did.

The details that matter on a contract

Awkward exports handled

Comma, tab, semicolon or pipe separated; descriptions that run over two lines; the byte-order mark Excel adds. Schedule descriptions are long, and exports are messy.

Codes stay unique

A code can only appear once in a schedule, regardless of case — AC0112 and ac0112 can’t both exist and quietly price differently.

Measured jobs keep their prices

When a line is added to a job, its rate and uplift are stored on the line. Update the schedule next year and jobs you’ve already measured don’t move.

Licensing. Vento doesn’t supply schedule content. NHF and PSA schedules are licensed by their publishers — import the edition your organisation is licensed to use, or your own in-house schedule.

What is a Schedule of Rates?

A priced list of standard tasks — each with a code, description, unit and rate — that a client uses to value work under a contract. Social-housing and facilities contracts commonly use a published schedule such as the NHF Schedule of Rates, adjusted by a tendered percentage.

Can I use the NHF Schedule of Rates in Vento?

Yes, if you’re licensed to use it: import your copy as a spreadsheet export. Vento doesn’t supply the NHF, PSA or any other published schedule.

Is Schedule of Rates included in every plan?

Yes. It’s on every plan, with no per-schedule or per-job charge.

How are rounding differences avoided?

Each line’s adjusted rate is rounded to the penny before it’s multiplied by the quantity, and the line total is rounded again. The same rule is applied wherever the line appears, so the figure on screen is the figure saved to the job.
